Role and Responsibilities:

As an entry-level Waste Management Scale Attendant, you provide customer service, weigh incoming vehicles, and manage scale-house ticketing at landfill and transfer station sites.

• Greet public and commercial collection truck drivers entering the facility scale lanes
• Operate computerized scale software to weigh incoming waste trucks and log waste tonnage
• Process cash, credit card, and commercial billing account transactions accurately
• Inspect vehicle load manifests to ensure non-compliant or hazardous materials are excluded
• Direct drivers safely to assigned tipping pads, recycling bays, or working landfill cells
• Maintain clean, well-organized scale-house office spaces and entry lanes

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Basic math proficiency, cash-handling skills, and comfortable using computers
• Strong customer service orientation and clear verbal communication skills
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and attention to operational detail
• Ability to work comfortably in fast-paced customer-facing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• No prior scale house experience required; complete system training provided
• Previous cashier, customer service, or retail administrative experience is beneficial
