Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Lead Sanitation Worker bridges frontline waste collection execution and shift supervision. While performing active collection and vehicle loading duties, you assist route supervisors by guiding crew safety compliance, monitoring route completion speeds, and training newly hired sanitation workers on proper lifting and packing controls. You also conduct pre-route safety tailgates, audit PPE usage, and assist with vehicle washdown routines at the completion of shifts. This role is 100% physical and strictly requires full on-site presence along collection routes and facility yards (no remote options allowed).
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED required; prior waste collection or sanitation experience required. Requires physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, strong communication skills, peer leadership abilities, and a clean driving record.
